Design reviews
Design reviews with visibility, accountability, and error reduction. No conference rooms, screenshots, or slide deck attachments required. Start with a visual comparison of two design versions and a generated diff. Asynchronous design reviews provide a container for conversations between your team and other stakeholders.
In-design comments
Drag and select an area of your design and enter a comment without taking screenshots. Only receive notifications the way you want – via in-platform, email, Slack, and more.
Visual diffs
Automatically generate redlines for your PCBs, schematics, and BOMs. Highlight added actions in green, removed ones in red, and modified in yellow. Diffs are object-level, ensuring that even the metadata of your changes that aren’t visible, such as an updated manufacturer part number, will be highlighted.
Checklists
Start with our hardware design review checklist or build out your own templates so teams don’t have to start from scratch each time. Flexible reviewer lists allow you to ensure you have the right team helping you verify your design and get it into production.
Project workflow management
Customize your workflow to fit and improve your current one. Save what works, reuse it with repo templates, and change what doesn’t. Build workflows that match your existing product development system minus the inefficiencies and headaches.
Issues
Never let an action item go uncaptured or unassigned again. Track feature requests, design specifications, bug fixes, and validation/ verification requirements. These can be linked to design reviews and specific design areas within specific versions.
Tags and releases
Never ship the wrong files again. Tag co-workers, configure email notifications, and be able to reply, resolve the conversation, or reference it in a new issue. Tags are snapshots that point to a specific commit in history that everyone can agree upon. A release is a tag with files. Create tags for your prototypes, variants, or deviations.
Labels & milestones
Track collections of issues to help your design sprints. Use milestones to help you focus and prioritize an agile release process. Use labels to indicate lifecycle phases, levels of urgency, priority, categories, or team types.
Team management
Communicate with relevant internal or external parties via your preferred channels, all on your own time. Stay in sync and never worry about losing feedback across your tech stack.
Access control
Streamline user access with team permissions. Gain granular control over read/write access to files, issues, design reviews, releases, wikis, and projects.
Notifications & webhooks
Alerts where you and your team will see them. Share your design changes and review comments to the tools you’re already using to communicate via webhooks – including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, and many more.
Individual contributor and team approvals
Assign PCB and schematic design reviews to bring clarity in which engineers or teams should submit their reviews for a pull request.
Customizable hardware home-base
Engineers customize these features to modernize their workflows and bring their existing toolsets to their greatest potential.
ECAD agnostic support
From KiCAD, Altium, and OrCad to Mentor Graphics, System Capture, and Allegro on the way, any team using any format can collaborate together in one place.
Repo templates
Customize each repository using our repo templates or preload your templates to match your current internal process. This allows you to provide stakeholders with read/write granularity without having to start from scratch.
API
Engineering isn’t a ‘one-size-fits-all’ endeavor. Bring the tools that work best for your team and discard the others. Leverage an API that connects with virtually any current system you want to continue using.
Git powered development
Document, track, categorize and manage design history from idea to production. Hardware Engineers & Electrical Engineers leverage Git for Hardware for better traceability and revision control. All through well-established Gitflows that people know and love, with minimal learning curve or shift in current process.
Branch & merge
Create forks to allow releases or development work before merging your hardware revisions into another branch.
Mirrors
Automatically sync backups of your repos to external servers, or use AllSpice.io to mirror your existing Git repos.
Submodules
Manufacture prototypes and production PCBA revisions with consistency and peace of mind, knowing you always have the right files.
Git client support
Some of the most popular among our customers are GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, and Gitea.
Git to Git migration
Easily move your designs from your existing Git client to make AllSpice.io your homebase. All while retaining the features and functionality you rely on Git for.
SVN Migration
Be proactive before SVN sunsets. We make it easy for teams to quit SVN and move to Git. Leverage our extensive documentation to modernize the version control of your files.
Security
We’re engineers ourselves and understand how critical your organization’s data is. Security is at the core of both platform tiers. Fortune 500s utilize AllSpice.io Enterprise tier to meet complex security and compliance requirements.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Require your engineers to enable multi-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security to your organization’s IP.
Single-sign-on (SSO)
AllSpice.io Enterprise supports the following Single-sign-on options like OIDC (covering Azure AD, Github, Google, OKTA, and more) and LDAP (covering Active Directory, OpenLDAP, and more).
ITAR-compliant hosting options
Using AWS GovCloud, ensure that you maintain industry specific compliance while securing your designs.
Community support
From a knowledge base to ebooks and webinars, your account support and resources are written by the Electrical Engineers on our team. We’re hardware people that provide support to engineers like you.
Knowledge base
A searchable, comprehensive documentation knowledge base to help you get started with using AllSpice.io for your hardware development. Featuring how-to guides, tutorials, glossaries, and more.
Webinars
From Git crash courses, SVN to Git migration, and library management best practices to product walk throughs, we engage with the engineering community regularly and answer your questions in real time – engineering to engineer.
AllSpice.io for students
We believe in accessibility to our platform for the future generation of engineers. Currently enrolled students who want complimentary access to our platform as an individual or for an extra-curricular club (i.e. robotics, racing), can send an email, using their .edu email, to [email protected].
